  • Testing (e.g., CSET) reimbursement prior to program start (up to $500)
  • STEP Stipends ($4,000)= up to $4,500
  • Can apply for a Teach Grant  (+ $4,000) or Golden State Grant (+ $20,000)
  • Traditional (up to $4,500) $4,000: Trellis Scholar Stipend =up to $8,500
  • Fulfills obligations for a Teach Grant  (+ $4,000) or Golden State Grant (+ $20,000)
  • Trellis Scholar (up to $8,500) +
  • $12,500: Residency Stipend =up to $20,500
  • Fulfills obligations for a Teach Grant  (+ $4,000) or Golden State Grant (+ $20,000)

 

Admission/Acceptance and Program Commitments

  • Fulfill all single subject program requirements

Traditional  +

  • Complete Trellis Teacher Scholar application 
  • Be placed in Santa Rosa, Napa, or Sonoma 
  • Attend Trellis community events
  • Commit to working in a bay area partner district for 5 years

Traditional  + 

  • Complete North Bay Residency Fellow application
  • Be placed in Santa Rosa or Napa (50% time in Fall, 80% time in Spring)
  • Attend Trellis community events + district-specific professional learning community events 
  • Commit to working in Residency district for 4 years

  • Fully accredited and social justice focused university teacher preparation program
  • Full year clinical practice with mentor teacher while you are supported by university faculty and supervisor

Traditional  +

  • Paired with a Mentor Teacher trained through Trellis at effective and equitable  STEM teaching and mentoring
  • Participation in Trellis regional and bay area wide events to develop your teaching and network over 6 years
  • (As first year teacher) receive full pay while only teaching 80%

Trellis Scholar + 

  • District specific support as you engage with university faculty, mentors, other candidates, and administrators at your school site for 4 years

Requirements:

Before student teaching, demonstrate Spanish language competence by taking... 

  • SPAN 300/300H, SPAN 301, and SPAN 304 OR 
  • Course equivalents OR
  • CSET Spanish III Exam 

By the end of the program, complete...

  • SPAN 427
  • EDMS 465

Student teach in dual-immersion/international baccalaureate middle or high school, or  schools with high numbers of emergent bilinguals/English learners. Note: Eligible to participate in the North Bay Residency Program. 
 

Add a Math or Science Single Subject Credential while you complete the Multiple Subject Credential Program

Financial Support: 

  • Receive $2,000 STEP Stipend after being recommend for the credential
